Terms and conditions for classroom training

Website content and prices

  • We reserve the right to change the content and prices within this website without notice.

  • All prices are excl. VAT taxes, travel, accommodation, and transport expenses.

Courses and services

  • Participation in any training course or service requires fully paid course fee 7 days prior to commencement, unless separate agreement is in force.

  • If a participant is not able to attend the training course, it is possible to replace with a substitute participant.

  • Furuno Maritime Training reserves the right to cancel a scheduled training course up to 30 days prior to the commencement of a course, on grounds of too few participants (minimum 4 trainees per course unless otherwise agreed).

Courses and services - Cancellation and refund

  • Free of charge / full refund: 30 days before commencement.

  • 50 % course fee applies: 30 to 15 days before commencement.

  • 75 % course fee applies: 14 to 7 days before commencement.

  • 100 % course fee applies: 6 days before commencement or no show.   

Terms and conditions for online training - NavSkills™ Online

Webshop content and prices

  • We reserve the right to change the content and prices within our webshop without notice.

  • All prices in the FMT webshop are excl. VAT taxes.

  • All course prices are for one trainee.

Order processing time

  • We reserve the rights of a processing time of one workday from purchase to the delivery of login credentials.

Technical requirements for online training

  • Training on the NavSkills Online platform requires a stable internet connection.

Cancellation and refund

  • Cancellation and refund of NavSkills™ Online orders are only possible before accessing a training course on the NavSkills™ Online platform.

The platform

  • Access to the NavSkills™ Online Platform 
    There is a time limit of 90 days for you to complete your training course - counting from the day the license key is activated. 

  • User account
    Accounts on NavSkills™ Online are strictly private and you may not share the account information with others.

  • Platform content
    No part of the content on the NavSkills™ Online platform may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, without the prior written permission from Furuno Maritime Training.

  • License keys

    A license key gives access to one online course on the NavSkills™Online platform.
    Furuno Maritime Training cannot be held responsible for any wrongful use, willful misuse, or sharing of license keys. If the license key is activated and the trainee has started the training course - the license key is considered used, and will not be refunded.

Online  Data Privacy Policy

Furuno Maritime Training processes all data in a precise and statutory manner in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR).

To generate your certificate when you have completed your training course, we must process and store your personal data (name, date of birth, nationality, and email).
We store the information in our secure database to allow future confirmation of a certificate's validity.
Your data will be shared with our training platform provider www.moodle.com in the extent necessary only for the proper functioning of the training application. Please visit their website for detailed information about their privacy policy

In accordance with the GDPR you have the right to know how we handle your personal data and you have the right to have your personal data deleted.
Please contact Furuno Maritime Training via mail or telephone if you wish to have your data deleted or if you have further questions regarding our Data Privacy Policy.

EU restrictive measures for Russians
Furuno Maritime Training is prohibited to sell or supply training to a legal person in Russia.
In accordance with the EU-wide ban on supply, transfer, or export of maritime products, technology, and services to a physical or legal person, unit, or entity in Russia as stipulated in EU Council regulation 2022/394.

 COUNCIL REGULATION (EU) 2022/394

                        ‘Article 3f

1.   It shall be prohibited to sell, supply, transfer or export, directly or indirectly, maritime navigation goods and technology, as listed in Annex XVI, whether or not originating in the Union, to any natural or legal person, entity or body in Russia, for use in Russia, or for the placing on board of a Russian-flagged vessel.

2.   It shall be prohibited to:

(a) provide technical assistance, brokering services or other services related to the goods and technology referred to in paragraph 1 and to the provision, manufacture, maintenance and use of those goods and technology, directly or indirectly to any natural or legal person, entity or body in Russia or for use in Russia.

(b) provide financing or financial assistance related to the goods and technology referred to in paragraph 1 for any sale, supply, transfer or export of those goods and technology, or for the provision of related technical assistance, brokering services or other services, directly or indirectly to any natural or legal person, entity or body in Russia or for use in Russia.
